This elaborately handcrafted aluminum tank functions as a catch can to collect oil vapors from the crankcase ventilation system as well as the washer fluid reservoir on Mercedes W201 190E models.
Simple Installation
The tank is installed in the original position and allows the standard washer fluid pump to be carried over. As with the standard tank, it sits in the rubber grommet and is fastened with the plastic bolt on the wheel arch.
The connection to the PCV system and the drain for emptying the tank are use Dash-AN 12 and -6 connections.
Why a Catch-Can in the W201?
By separating the oil, which is normally fed back into the intake as oil mist via the crankcase ventilation, you avoid deposits in the intake and on the valves and thus contribute to the health of your engine. The filter in the upper part of the tank allows the air to escape and filters out the oil it contains.
A must for performance-focused W201 with M102 8V and 16V engines, M103 or conversions such as M104 and M111. The Catch-Can is particularly essential for W201 turbo conversions!
