Improved chain tensioner with mounting materials for reliable operation of M102.983 16V engines found in 190E 2.3-16 models.

The chain tensioner has a ratcheting mechanism and is superior to the originally installed tensioner, which works by means of oil pressure. The old chain tensioner can often no longer apply the necessary tension to the chain when the engine is started or the timing chain gets elongated over time, causing the chain to jump over and, in the worst case, cause engine damage.

We recommend that work on the timing system is always carried out by a specialist.
When installing, the plastic filler piece included must be shortened to the correct length or the old part must be reused.
