The new sensor measures the temperature of the intake air of your M102 or M103 engine of W201 190E, W124, R129, W126, etc. and transmits the value to the KE-Jetronic injection system to ensure the correct fuel quantity and thus good engine running.
The temperature of the intake air determined by the sensor is one of the most important parameters for the operation of the KE-Jetronic. If the sensor delivers incorrect values because it is defective or the values deviate due to a lack of sealing, the engine running can be negatively affected and in extreme cases it can even lead to too much fuel being injected, which can cause the spark plugs to soot up and the engine to stall.
