One Wrench for Two Designs

With this oil filter wrench you open and close the oil filter housing on many Mercedes engines cleanly and without slipping. The special point: the 74 mm cap with 14-point profile grips both the cover of the older metal housings (M102 8V, M104) and the plastic screw caps of the newer engines (M111, M112, M113). Both designs use the same 74 mm profile, so this one tool is enough. The cap is operated via a 3/8″ ratchet (10 mm square drive) or directly via the 27 mm hex with an open-end wrench.

The Hazet cap sits firmly over the cover and transmits torque cleanly even on stuck housings, without damaging the plastic cap. Watch the size: the 74 mm cap is exactly right for the engines listed here. Other Mercedes use 84 or 86 mm – those do not fit here.
