The new fuel strainer replaces clogged and dirty strainers A2014700406 in the fuel tanks of many models of the Mercedes chassis W201, W124 and W126. It is the early version with coarse thread.
Especially after longer standstill or if the strainer has never been replaced, a swap is advisable, because the strainer in the tank is the first line of defense against contamination in the fuel system and a clean filter can prevent consequential damage and allow free fuel flow.
Before ordering, check the connection thread for the fuel hose. This early version has a coarse thread. For the later fine-thread version you need reference number A2014700506.
