Hears Knock Before It Gets Expensive
If you push ignition timing, you want to know when the engine starts to knock. The knock sensor picks up structure-borne noise signals on the engine block and reports knocking combustion to the ECU. That way MaxxECU can retard ignition near the limit during the EFI conversion and protect your engine from damage.
With active knock control you run your ignition maps closer to the knock threshold and get more from the engine without going in blind.
Use
Universal for stock intake or individual throttle projects on M102 8V, M102 16V, M103 and M104. Especially recommended for turbo and high-performance engines.
The complete conversion is available as a ready EFI kit for M102 8V, M102 16V, M103 and M104.
Note
The knock sensor requires an EFI kit with MaxxECU Race. Observe mounting location and torque on the engine block per the ECU instructions.
