The MRE roller bodies (barrel throttle bodies) combine the advantages of flat-slide and individual throttle setups. In the part-load range and at low rpm the engine can be controlled precisely as with throttle plates, while at full load no throttle plate shaft stands in the intake port. The intake port cross-section is opened 100%.
This is a consistent further development of the original Mercedes Sport+Technik roller bodies from the 1990 DTM season. The intake runners are machined from high-quality aluminum and their geometry is calculated with modern tools and flow-formed, so that the full potential can also be tapped on a stock cylinder head with its two round individual ports.
The rotary valve is also manufactured to high precision from full billet aluminum, whereas the intake trumpets that connect the roller bodies to the optional carbon airbox are made as a lightweight magnesium casting. The optional fuel package places eight Bosch injectors with two machined aluminum fuel rails and their brackets on the roller bodies.
Thanks to the clever engineering and high-quality materials, the roller bodies work perfectly in every application, whether on a 190E 2.3-16 or 2.5-16 with stock cylinder head or an original Evo 2 DTM engine with large intake ports.
In the base package you receive the roller body unit with trumpets, linkage and fittings. For easy installation you can add the matching fuel supply incl. aluminum fuel rails and Bosch injectors as well as a carbon airbox with air filter housing.
Further solutions for the intake and injection of your Mercedes W201 190E such as individual throttle or carburetor setups are also available in the shop.
Notes
To install the roller bodies, the oil filter housing must be relocated and when used with the optional carbon airbox the smaller brake booster from 190E 8V or diesel models must be fitted.
Manufacture of the roller body system is exclusively individually to order. Returns are excluded.
